Dermaplaning & Summer Specials!

What is Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is a gentle exfoliation technique used to remove surface debris from the face using a custom dermaplaning blade. A qualified aesthetician performs treatment in office to gently and effectively remove the outer most layers of dead skin cells. Repeated treatments are recommended to stimulate and rejuvenate skin tissue.

After cleansing and drying the skin, a scalpel at a slight angle is passed over the skin several times in a smooth motion, removing dead skin cells and vellus hair.  Dermaplaning can be performed on patients with sensitive skin, as the aestician can adjust their level of touch.

The Benefits of Dermaplaning

  • The exfoliation benefits of dermaplaning can help the skin look and feel smoother and brighter. There is no downtime– dermaplaning can be performed in one visit without any recovery time unlike traditional chemical peels. Dermaplaning can diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and over time can work to improve the appearance of acne scaring and uneven pigment. It helps minimize the appearance of pores while improving elasticity and texture of the skin. It can increase the absorption of topical products and can be used to prime skin for chemical peels. Dermaplaning also removes vellus hair or the “peach fuzz” or the top layer of the skin on the side of the face. Dermaplaning has been recommended by make-up artists prior to big events for its ability to smooth the skin for flawless make-up application.
