Ambulatory Phlebectomy An Overview
Ambulatory Phlebectomy is a minimally-invasive surgical procedure for the treatment of varicose veins. Dr. Aaron Shiloh offers the ambulatory phlebectomy procedure from the comfort of the Center for SmartLipo and Plastic Surgery. Dr. Shiloh is a highly trained cosmetic doctor that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of venous conditions.
The Ambulatory Phlebectomy procedure is effective at reducing the visibility of varicose veins. By removing surface varicose veins of all sizes, affected areas look smoother and more aesthetically appealing. This outpatient procedure generally takes less than an hour, is minimally invasive and virtually painless.
Ambulatory Phlebectomy What to Expect
A local anesthetic will be administered to the treatment area for optimal comfort during treatment. Once the patient is relaxed and prepped, Dr. Shiloh will begin the treatment by making tiny punctures in the areas where the veins are to be removed. Then, using a phlebectomy hook, Dr. Shiloh enters the tiny incisions and removes the veins.
Patients enjoy instant, long term results. Treated areas are smoother and more aesthetically appealing right after surgery. When the varicose veins are properly removed, results typically last for many years.*
Ambulatory Phlebectomy Recovery
The ambulatory phlebectomy procedure is an outpatient procedure and requires no hospital stay. Because the micro-incisions are so small, sutures are not required and downtime is minimal. The treatment takes less than one hour and most patients do not even need additional pain medication following treatment.
Dr. Shiloh always recommends that patients wear a compression bandage for at least two weeks after surgery. Compression bandages will help to reduce discomfort and minimize swelling. Specific post treatment instructions will be reviewed with each patient for optimal results.
