We can’t stop the aging process, but we can help you turn back the clock to reveal a more youthful, refreshed appearance. We are excited to offer Philadelphia area patients Fat Transfer: a natural way to rejuvenate the face and hands and improve the volume and shape of breasts and buttocks.
Fat Transfer: What to Expect
Fat Transfer is a minimally – invasive procedure that is performed in an office environment under local anesthesia. The Fat Transfer procedure involves two steps: liposuction to harvest fat, followed by the transfer procedure to rejuvenate the desired area.
Liposuction
The first step for a Fat Transfer procedure is liposuction. It is important to remove the fat gently to ensure the highest rate of survival and the best results for the patient.
Fat can be removed from practically any area of the body including the abdomen, thighs, or hips to be transferred to another area of the body such as the breast, face or hands. The amount of fat needed will depend on the area(s) to be treated as well as the desired results.
Fat Transfer
The fat that was removed during the liposuction procedure is prepared and processed for the fat transfer procedure. This concentration of fat will be injected into the area(s) that has been targeted for treatment.
Local anesthesia is used to numb the injection area. Depending on the treatment area(s), the fat transfer procedure is typically complete in less than one hour, and in some cases, in just a few minutes.
