Hair Restoration What to Expect

FUE Method for Hair Restoration

Available for both men and women, the Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) method incorporates the latest minimally invasive technology and advanced grafting techniques. FUE provides a solution for hair loss with minimal side effects and down time.

Using this non-surgical method, Dr. Goldfarb will skillfully transplant single harvested hair follicles and transplant them without scarring, discomfort and downtime.

Patients will experience a gradual regrowth of hair for up to a year after their treatment. Typically there is noticeable hair growth after about 3 months which will continue to thicken and darken in color as the transplanted hair follicle matures. Learn More

PRP Method for Hair Restoration

The PRP method of hair restoration uses the patient’s own blood, spun down in our own lab, to create a platelet rich plasma (PRP). The PRP is suspended in a solution containing Selphyl®, a natural filler that when combined with PRP will stimulate collagen production and cell proliferation in treated areas.

Treatment with the PRP method takes place over several months. On average, patients see a 19.7% increase in hair density in the treated area(s) during the initial 3 months. After treatment is complete, they can expect to see a continued increase in the density of the hair in treated areas, approximately 38% on average. The Selphyl/PRP injections stimulate healthy cell regrowth that will support lasting regrowth beyond the first year. Learn More

Which procedure is right for me?

We offer complimentary consultations and will help you decide which treatment is best for your hair restoration goals. Generally speaking, the FUE method is best suited for men and women with moderate hair loss. The PRP method is ideal for patients with thinning hair or early stages of hair loss.

*Results May Vary

Will the hair grow normally after treatment?

Yes, in both methods, hair will grow normally after the treatment. With the FUE method, translated hair follicles will produce normal growth within a few months. The PRP method will stimulate healthy cell regrowth with a gradual increase in normal hair growth that is sustained beyond the first year.

*Results May Vary

Is there downtime after the procedure?

There is no significant downtime with either procedure. Most patients return to their normal routine the same or next day with minimal discomfort or noticeable scarring.

*Results May Vary

Am I a candidate for this procedure if I have had a hair transplant before?

Yes, most patients who have had a previous transplant with less than desirable results will be candidates for the FUE procedure. Dr. Goldfarb will discuss expected results during a consultation prior to your treatment.
