Does bladder incontinence impact your daily quality of life? Do you avoid social situations due to fears of embarrassing bladder leakage?
The Center for Smart Lipo and Plastic Surgery in Langhorne, PA offers a revolutionary treatment for incontinence that can give you back the confidence to enjoy activities without worry and discomfort. BTL EMSELLA™ is a non-invasive procedure that targets the pelvic floor muscles to improve bladder control.
Common causes of incontinence:
How does BTL EMSELLA™ work?
BTL EMSELLA™ uses electromagnetic technology to stimulate muscle contractions in the pelvic floor similar to the Kegel exercise but with greater intensity. Each treatment will produce thousands of muscle contractions to strengthen and re-stabilize the pelvic floor. The procedure is non-invasive and patients do not even need to remove clothing during treatment.
The repetition of the muscle contractions will slowly improve lost muscle control and raise the pelvic floor to minimize leakage of urine from the bladder. Patients often experience an immediate change in muscle tone after their first treatment
How many treatments are required?
Dr. Goldfarb will meet with you to discuss your medical history and personal concerns regarding bladder leakage and incontinence before recommending a treatment plan. Most patients will need 6 sessions, scheduled twice a week. One session will last for approximately 30 minutes, and you can return to your normal daily routine immediately afterward.
Is BTL EMSELLA™ painful?
Most patients experience only mild sensations of tingling and muscle contraction in the pelvic area during treatment. There is no need for any type of numbing due to the non-invasive nature of the procedure.
Am I a candidate for BTL EMSELLA™?
Although most patients will be considered a good candidate for this treatment option, Dr. Goldfarb will meet with you to evaluate your needs and determine the underlying cause of your incontinence. There are certain types of incontinence that may not fully respond to muscle stimulation.
BTL EMSELLA™ can dramatically improve your quality of life, giving you back the confidence and freedom to enjoy social activities without worry or embarrassment.
